Jointara is a small village of 1790 hectares in Bhopalgarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jointara depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jointara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Jointara's pin code is 342603[4], and village code is 01948400. The area of Jointara is segregated as 127.76 hectares irrigated area, 1153.84 hectares unirrigated, the 154.8 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 353.14 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell ghee and make their living.
