Johnmichael Colon (born August 19, 1995) is an American illusionist, magician, speaker, and businessman who is known for his art of inspiring and motivating others. Colon is also a keynote motivational speaker, known for incorporating vulnerability and sharing human experiences to overcome challenges and adversities. With his passion for magic, motivational speaking, and entrepreneurship, Colon continues to inspire and motivate others to reach their full potential.
Early life and education
Colon was born on August 19, 1995, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, to Miguel A. Colon Molina and Idalia Flores Vergara. He attended Dorado Academy for his primary education. Later, he attended the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras for one year and moved to Nyack College and completed graduation. He also holds a magna cum laude bachelor’s degree in science from Pastoral Ministry.
Colon's entrepreneurial spirit was evident from a young age. He began his first business, JC Vending Machine, at the age of 15, investing $850, and eventually sold the business for $12k after three years. Although Colon had always loved magic, he did not have access to the resources to pursue it as a career until he was 19 years old, when a friend introduced him to magic websites. He began to buy books online and attend conventions, which led him to perform in birthday shows. But his passion was not doing family shows. He always dreams of doing theater shows. Eventually in 2018 he did his first theater show. After that his career took a turn and now he performs at different theaters in and out of Puerto Rico.
Career
Colon is a talented artist who uses magic and illusions to express his ideas. He is passionate about using storytelling to inspire and motivate others to be their best selves. He was known for his magical performances at weddings, VIP parties, and corporate events, where he performs close-up magic, which is perfect for welcome cocktails and other activities where you don't want to stop the entire event to watch a show. But Colon felt that he was incomplete, he wanted to communicate more so he trained as a public speaker and developed public and corporate shows, combining illusionism and live instrumental music to provide an interactive and exclusive experience.
He has performed at various events, from VIP events for public figures such as Bad Bunny, and Daddy Yankee to less privileged communities, hospitals, and homes. He has also worked with Amazon and performed at the Puerto Rico Coliseum.
In 2018, Colon debuted his first tour in Puerto Rico, "Ilusiones y Coincidencias," which had multiple sold-out shows. Since then, he has participated in various television programs on the island. Currently, he is focused on preparing motivational and reflective conferences that use illusionism as an illustrative method.
Personal life
Colon married his wife, Gabriela Donis Rodriguez, in December 2019.
