John Daro is a Digital Intermediate (DI) colorist, at Warner Bros. Post Production Creative Services, which is a division of WarnerMedia.[1] He has performed color grading/color correction on numerous feature films, for clients including all the major studios in addition to independent productions.
Career
John Daro started his career at the film lab FotoKem. There he pioneered post-production techniques including 3D conversion and what is known today as HDR imaging.[2] He was one of the original team members of the digital film services department which led FotoKem to become one of the top film labs and a leader in the film and television post-production industry.[3][4]
In 2013 Daro was recognized for his work on Behind the Candelabra with an HPA nomination for Outstanding Color Grading.[5]
In 2015 He was again awarded an HPA Outstanding Color Grading nomination for his work on The Boxtrolls.[6][7]
In 2016 John Daro became a member of the Visual Effects Society (VES)
In April 2018, after 17 years with FotoKem, Daro accepted a position at Warner Bros.
In 2018 He joined the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
