John Clark is an American graphic designer and co-founder of Team, a design studio based in Brooklyn, New York.[1] Team is known for its rebranding efforts for major organizations, including Pfizer's 2021 rebrand,[2] The Bronx Museum,[3] and the Independent Art Fair.[4] Clark and his team are also credited for their work on the graphic design for Thom Browne, a luxury fashion label.[5]

Early Life and Education

John Clark, also known as John Patrick Clark II, was born on July 21, 1985, in San Diego, California. Clark graduated from the University of San Diego High School and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts.

Clark holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he specialized in brand identity design.[6]

Career

Since beginning his professional career in 2008, Clark has led teams across the globe and developed brand identities and creative work for clients such as Google, YouTube, and Absolut. His portfolio showcases a diverse range of projects that illustrate the field of brand identity design, brand systems, and user experience. Clark has also worked for clients such as The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Some of his notable works include the 2021 rebranding of Pfizer,[7] the rebranding of The Bronx Museum,[8] and Independent Art Fair[9], as well as the 2025 rebrand of leading growth equity firm, General Atlantic.[10] Additionally, Clark has contributed graphic design work for the fashion brand, Thom Browne.

In 2021, Clark’s company, Team, was recognized as an honoree in Fast Company's Innovation by Design Awards. Team's rebrand for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporation Pfizer was featured in the awards' "Best Branding of 2021" category.[11] In 2023, they received the Gold Grand Prize at the Indigo Design Awards for their branding of The Bronx Museum.[12] That same year, they also won accolades in the 365: AIGA Year in Design for The Bronx Museum's “Brand and Identity Systems”.[13]

Additionally, they secured two wins at the 2023 RGD Branding Awards: one for The Bronx Museum’s “Rebrand & Refresh” and another for Pfizer’s “Branding Identity Rebrand & Refresh”.[14]
