Johan Andreassen (born 1977) is a Norwegian entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Atlantic Sapphire, a land-based salmon-farming company with locations in Denmark and Miami, Florida.[1][2][3]

Andreassen was born in Ålesund Norway, and grew up in Romsdal.[1][2] Andreassen founded Villa Lepefisk in 1995 with his cousin, Bjorn Vegard-Lovik. Vegard-Lovik and Andreassen fished the Fjord|fjords for wrasse which they sold to local fishermen to treat sea lice as an alternative to the widespread use of pesticides common at the time.[2][4] The company later branched out into salmon farming, and four years after it was founded, the company had rebranded to Villa Organic[4] and was the exclusive supplier of salmon to Whole Foods Market|Whole Foods.[4]

Bjorn Vegard-Lovik and Andreassen sold Villa Organic in 2009 for 150 million NOK[1][4] before starting Atlantic Sapphire in 2010.[2][3][4] Andreassen and Vegard-Lovik spent more than 10 years developing the land-based Aquafarming|aquafarms that they named Bluehouses. The company produced the first harvest of salmon in 2020 under its Bluehouse Salmon brand.[3]
