Jode Sheriffe (born 4 July 1986) is an English rugby league footballer who last played as for Dewsbury Rams, in the RFL Championship.

Early Years

He began playing rugby at seven years old for Illingworth ARLFC; remaining there until aged 14, then moving to Kings Cross under-15s. While at Kings Cross, Jode was scouted and signed up for Halifax R.L.F.C. Sox scholarship programme.

Playing Career

Halifax RLFC

Jode made his first team debut, aged 19, in 2005. During this time he also spent some time on loan at London Broncos, who were then in Super League.

Bradford Bulls

Despite receiving the Academy’s Players’ Player award, and being captain of the Bradford Academy side, Jode was unable to make a first team appearance.

Featherstone Rovers

Jode made a number of first team appearances for Featherstone, but sustained a serious knee injury that ruled him out, and there after struggled to regain fitness, and resulted in a second operation.

Keighley Cougars

Jode was approached by head coach Jason Demetriou to join newly promoted Keighley.

International

Jode has made a number of appearances for Jamaica national rugby league team, making his debut against United States national rugby league team|United States in Jacksonville, Florida in 2009.

Personal

Jode is the younger brother of Rikki Sheriffe.

As a qualified coach and with the help and support of his wife, Joleene, Jode started a rugby training business, Rugger Ratz, aimed principally for children aged 2-5+.
