Joël Galliard (nl|dʒoˈɛl ɣɑˈlijɑrt (born 5 December 2009), known mononymously as JOËL (stylized in all caps), is a Dutch singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Leeuwarden, Joël entered the music scene as a teenager. His vocal style features use of falsetto and whistle notes (whistle register). His music consists of pop, synthpop, and alternative genres.

Early life

He states he often grew up in fear, but found solace in the natural surroundings of his childhood, growing up in the forests, akin to fellow artist Aurora Aksnes.[1]

Career

Galliard's music career began with the release of his debut music single, Just A Few Steps, which was released with the help of CollabHouse, a distributing platform. The track is likely available on over 55 platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, and is notable for showcasing his vocal range, including his falsetto and the ability to reach high whistle notes, whistle register, such as a prominent C9 towards the end of the song. Just A Few Steps was written by Joël, and composed by Paradnik Denis Sergejevitsj and Joël. He wrote the song in Russian, for a friend who's going through a 'tough time'.[2]

Online presence

Before joining the music scene, Joël gained attention through his TikTok account, "thelargesttree", where he amassed nearly 300,000 followers prior to fully focus on his music career.[3] He continues to engage with fans through various social media platforms such as Instagram, with additional information being shared within a Discord Server, on his social media, and on his Linktree.

On YouTube, Joël is fairly well known as YourBoyDonald.[4]
