Choi Yun-jin born April 16, 2004)[1][2], known professionally as Jini and formerly as Jinni (Korean|지니), is a South Korean singer. She is best known as a former member of the South Korean girl group Nmixx.
Career
Pre-debut
Choi joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2016.[3] In 2019, she appeared in 2pm's Nichkhun's music video for his song "Lucky Charm".[3]
2021–2022: Debut with Nmixx and departure
Nmixx On August 6, 2021, Choi was revealed as a member of JYP Entertainment's upcoming girl group Nmixx, then known as JYPn, under the stage name Jinni.[4] The group officially debuted on February 22, 2022.[5] On December 9, JYP Entertainment announced that Choi had departed from the group and terminated her contract due to personal circumstances.[1]
2023–present: Solo debut with An Iron Hand In A Velvet Glove
On April 14, 2023, it was reported that Choi, now under the stage name Jini, has signed an exclusive contract with the record label United Artist Production (UAP).[6] On September 13, Choi announced her debut as a solo artist with the extended play (EP) titled An Iron Hand In A Velvet Glove.[7] The EP is scheduled to be released on October 11, 2023.[8]
