Jhirana is a small village of 2913 hectares in Peeplu Tehsil in Tonk district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jhirana depends on Tonk, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Jhirana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Jhirana's pin code is 304504[4], and village code is 02608100. The area of Jhirana is segregated as 399 hectares irrigated area, 2034.26 hectares unirrigated, the 349.7 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 130.26 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The workforce is 1326 male, 711 female with 1871 (91.85%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1268 males and 603 females. 715 males and 368 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 123 male and 194 female agricultural labor. 166 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Tonk to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
