Jhatawa Kalan is a small village of 644 hectares in Jhunjhunu Tehsil in Jhunjhunu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jhatawa Kalan depends on BISSAU, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 19.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jhatawa Kalan is also surrounded by Two lakes. They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BISSAU and Jhunjhunu to sell earthen pot and make their living.
