Jhalora Bhatiyan is a small village of 3313 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jhalora Bhatiyan depends on POKARAN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jhalora Bhatiyan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Jhalora Bhatiyan's pin code is 345025[4], and village code is 02062100. The area of Jhalora Bhatiyan is segregated as 1759 hectares unirrigated, the 1053 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 501 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of POKARAN and Jaisalmer to sell ghee and make their living.
