Jessica Bridger is a journalist, urbanist, and consultant[1] who serves as a contributing editor for Monocle Magazine.[2] She was educated at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and Sarah Lawrence College.[3]

Journalism

Bridger's writing and research are largely focused on the built environment. She has published in discipline specific magazines, including MONU, Landscape Architecture Magazine, and The Architectural Review. She also works in mainstream international media, including print media and radio/podcast work for Monocle.[4]

Urbanism

Bridger has worked with United Nations Human Settlements Programme|UN-Habitat,[5] United Cities and Local Governments,[6] ETH Zurich, and other institutions to support public knowledge about complex urban processes.[7]

She was the Jaap Bakema fellow of the Netherlands Architecture Institute in 2012, developing work focussed on purchasing power and economic geography in Zurich, Switerland; Sofia, Bulgaria; and Berlin, Germany.[8]

In 2024 she was a visiting senior fellow at the National University of Singapore, teaching in the architecture department.[9]
