Jessica Kate Wilson (Jess Wilson) is the Liberal Party of Australia (Victorian Division) candidate for seat of Electoral district of Kew in the upcoming 2022 Victorian state election. Prior to her candidacy, Wilson was the Executive Director of the Business Council of Australia.[1]
Politics
Wilson was pre-selected to be Liberal candidate for Kew after defeating a number of pre-selection candidates including a senior opposition figure, David Davis (Australian politician).[1]
Jess Wilson is set to run for the seat of Kew in the 2022 Victorian State Election against teal-independent Sophie Torney and Labor candidate Lucy Skelton.[2]
Professional career
Before running as a candidate for the seat of Kew in the upcoming Victorian State Election, Jess Wilson spent much of her professional career working on climate change and energy policy.[3] Some of her roles have included Director of the Business Council of Australia, and Adviser to Josh Frydenberg.[4]
Personal life
Wilson grew up in Melbourne’s inner east attending Mont Albert Primary School, secondary school at Strathcona Girls Grammar, and completing tertiary education at Monash University. Wilson is passionate about hockey, playing for the Kew Box Hill Hockey Club, she also barracks for the Collingwood Football Club.[5]
