Jennifer Katharine Gates (born April 26, 1996) is an American equestrian and physician, best known as the eldest child of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and philanthropist Melinda French Gates.[1] She is a competitive show jumper, a graduate of Stanford University and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and the founder of Evergate Stables.
Early life and education
Gates was born in Bellevue, Washington, and raised in Medina. She began horseback riding at age six, eventually becoming a competitive show jumper. She graduated from Stanford University in 2018 with a B.S. in human biology, then earned a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and an M.D. from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.[2]
Equestrian career

Medical career
After completing medical school, Gates began her pediatric residency and is actively involved in public health research.
Personal life
In January 2020, Gates became engaged to Egyptian-American Olympian equestrian Nayel Nassar.[4] They married in October 2021 at her family’s horse farm in Westchester County, New York. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Leila,[5] in March 2023, and a second daughter, Mia, in October 2024.[6][7][8]

Raised under disciplined family rules—including delayed screen time—Gates is noted for balancing privilege with responsibility. Her wedding made headlines for her custom Vera Wang gown and intimate ceremony style.
