Jennifer Braswell Christy PT, DPT is originally from the state of Louisiana. She currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama where she serves as the current DPT program director at the University of Alabama- Birmingham. She was appointed this position in 2018. Christy received her B.S in physical therapy from Louisiana State University in 1992. Following, she went on to obtain her PhD from the University of Miami in 2004. She has been an associate professor at UAB since 2004 teaching Neuroscience, Thesis Research, and Vestibular Rehabilitation. She also was a Educational Leadership Institute Fellow in 2019-2020.

She also co authored "APTA Research Agenda Task Force. Steps to Revising the APTA Pediatrics Research Agenda" which focuses on current research priorities for the field, including federal agencies. The agenda has been accepted for the next three years by the APTA Pediatrics Research Agenda.
