Jeff Pierre is a Haitian Drummer, Producer, singer and composer. He blends traditional Haitians and electronic music to create his style. His sound is a fusion of Haitian music which is a mix of Compas, Rasin, Rara, Twoubadou[1], Haitian Vodou and Haitian Folklore. He combines these influences with Electronic dance music such as House music and Moombahton.

Early Years

Jeff Pierre was born January 8th 1993 in Port-au-Prince Haiti. He grew up in an artistic family with his mother Florencia Pierre also known as Fofo. She founded the cultural Dance & Drum group called Jaka where as a young child Jeff was introduced to Dance, Drumming, singing and theater. That is where he got his start. They traveled around the the world and throughout Haiti performing, teaching and hosting cultural events. Fofo traveled to all the different provinces of Haiti teaching and Jeff was always there as a young kid, watching and learning.

Around the age of three he began learning to drum from the various drummers in the Company Jaka. He was attending all of the rehearsals, classes and performances and grew quickly to love and understand the drums. He began teaching in the dance company when he was a teenager and by then he had a lot of experiences performing on stage.

In high school, Jeff got really attracted by the music on the radio and wondered how people created these electronic sounds. Through his curiosity he kept talking about making beats and one day he was introduced to FL Studio by a friend. He fell in love with the software and he never stopped learning and making electronic music.

Musical Career

At five Jeff was learning the Haitian rhythms with the drummers and performing with the company. At the age of six Jeff participated in a festival held in Martinique called "Le grand cri nègre" (1999). He performed with an ensemble for Miss Videomax (2003). He also played local shows in Haiti such as the Guede Party at the Hotel Oloffson. In 2008 he was invited along with his mother to teach and perform at Occidental College in LA (2008).

In 2010 after the List of earthquakes in Haiti, Jeff relocated to California and continued his musical studies at Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts where he learned and practiced Latin, Jazz and classical music. Jeff Became a part of his sister Djenane Saint Juste's Dance & Drum Company Afoutayi where he performed various shows including the 32nd[2] & 33rd annual SF Ethnic Dance Festival(2010-2011), Cuba Caribe(2010- 2011), San Francisco Carnaval[3] (2011), Artery Project (2011), Dance Mission, ODC and the Mission Cultural Center. He also had the opportunity to be the lead Drummer at Stanford University.

In 2019 Jeff's song intro from the album "We need drums" was featured in the movie "The Day Shall Come".

Throughout his career Jeff Collaborated with multiple artists including Christopher Willits[4], Bongo Sidibe, Paa Kow[5], Stephen Duros[6], Diego Jameau, Greg Landau[7], Joachim Horsley[8], John Santos[9], Javier Navarette[9], Leyla McCalla[10], Boris Reine-Aladelaïde[11], Alex K-BY[12], Lawson Rollins[13], Weedie Braimah, José Marquez, Cloudchord[14], Samba Zao, Tifane, Alex Ckj[15], Robert Wallace[9], Patricio Angulo[9], Kiazi Malonga[16] Mimi Barthélémy.

Jeff worked with local children through the San Francisco symphony AIM Program (2014-2015) Leap arts in education (2011-2014) Youth in arts (2011-2014) Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts.

Jeff Plays the Tanbou (Haitian Drums), Kone, Rara, Conga, Djembe, Handpan and uses FL Studio to produce his music

Jeff is inspired by many Artists & genres of music that evoke positive energy.
