Jean-Sébastien Colau (Provins, March 16, 1977) is a French dancer, étoile international, choreographer and a artistic ballet director .[1]

Biography

Jean-Sébastien Colau was born in 1977, France. He trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School and joined the corps in 1996. In 2000,He won the Bronze medal in Varna international ballet competition as well as the Silver medal in Nagoya. In 2002, he won the Silver medal in Paris international ballet competition and he joined the National Ballet of Canada as a Soloist where he was nominated as Best Dancer for the "William Married Award". In 2005, he took part of the Leipzig Ballet where he was promoted to "Etoile" after his interpretation of Sigfried in Swan Lake. After his nomination his started to guest all over the world. From 2014, he started to choreograph, his first piece was "Jules & Romeo" with the dancers of the Paris Opera. His was Maitre de ballet in numerous well known company but also international ballet schools.

Jean-Sébastien Colau has been named Dance Director of the Teatro Massimo di Palermo by the General Director Marco Betta on September 1, 2022.
