Javad Karimi Sabet was born in August 1973 in Qom province, Iran. He spent his elementary, middle, and high school years in the same city. In 1992, he enrolled in the University of Tehran to study chemical engineering and earned his master’s degree at the same institution in 1999. He went on to obtain a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2013. His tenure at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran began in 1999, shortly after completing his master's degree, and he remains today.[1]

Executive records

Javad Karimi Sabet has an impressive track record in executive, scientific, and research roles. Notably, he has served as Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and Head of the Nuclear Science and Technology Research Institute. He has also acted as an advisor to the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization focusing on the field of quantum technology development.

Currently, he is a professor of chemical engineering at the Nuclear Science and Technology Research Institute and a member of the academic staff . Additionally, he holds several leadership positions, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of Iran Nuclear Association, Deputy Director of the Atomic Energy Organization, and the Director of the National Center of Iran's Atomic Standards and Quality System.

In September 2022, Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, appointed Javad Karimi Sabet as the Deputy Head of the organization and Director of the National Center of Iran's Atomic Standards and Quality System.[2]

Scientific and research records

Javad Karimi Sabet's research is focused on various fields, including the development of new technologies for the separation of stable isotopes, the development of the application of stable isotopes, multi-scale modeling, and simulation of processes related to the nuclear fuel cycle. He has published more than 150 papers in reputable scientific journals and more than 100 conference papers in the fields of stable isotope separation, supercritical fluid, membrane separation, microfluidics, and process modeling[3] ; Also, there are several books authored and translated by him in the above-mentioned research fields.

Honors

  • Awarded the "third-degree national award for research" by the president in 2005.[4]
  • Selected as "exemplary Jihadi manager" in the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran at the 5th National Conference of Jihadi Management in 2017
  • Received the "Knowledge, Ethics, and Effort Award" from the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran in 2017.
