Jarosław Maria Jan Opala was born into a traditional Mariavite family. He was raised in the Mariavite parish in Raszewo Dworskie near Płock. At the age of 16, he entered the Mariavite Seminary in Płock. He was ordained a priest on May 6, 1990 by the Main Bishop Stanisław Maria Tymoteusz Kowalski in the cathedral in Płock.

As a priest, he worked in Mariavite parishes in Piaseczno, Leszno and Błonie. In 2000, he was assigned to the Mariavite parish in Mińsk Mazowiecki.
