Janpaliya is a small village of 3204 hectares in Chohtan Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Janpaliya depends on BARMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Janpaliya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Janpaliya's pin code is 344706[4], and village code is 02262700. The area of Janpaliya is segregated as 199 hectares irrigated area, 1346 hectares unirrigated, the 320 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 1339 hectare area not available for cultivation.
