Janesa (Nessa) Barrett (born August 6, 2002) is a dancing sensation as well as lip-sync artist and vlogger on TikTok who has more than 9 million fans to her nessaabarrett account. She primarily lip-syncs and dances to rap and pop songs, but also very occasionally includes comedy dialogue lip-syncs. She is of Puerto Rican descent.
Career
Nessa started her professional career as a TikTok star at the beginning of 2019. Within a year with , she made more than a million fans till December of 2019. As of July 2020, she has posted total videos of 614 with 9.2 million followers.[1]
Personal life and Controversies
Nessa has been in trouble due to posting an offensive video towards Islamic culture. One tiktok video depicted her ‘throwing it back’ towards the Quran. Later she apologised and said that she ‘thinks she is sorry’, however her audience aren’t all pleased with her apology.[2]She was in a relationship with Josh Richards from October 2019 to June 2020.[3]Whilst in this relationship, she was sent explicit images from fellow TikToker Lil Huddy. This, in turn, made her boyfriend Josh Richards aswell as Bryce Hall make a diss track called Still Softish. This song includes many remarks about Chase Hudson, talking about his “small d***”, probably referring to the images sent to Nessa as well as saying that ‘this m*********** manz tried to DM my girl’[4], also referring to Hudson.
On July 7th, Chase Hudson wrote a tweet quoting that he and Nessa kissed when they were both single. This tweet is now deleted. However a screenshot has been retained by twitter user @gOOdandfreshhh. This then made Tiktok Star Charli D'Amelio angry which made her retaliate with a tweet claiming that Hudson was ‘playing the victim’[5].
