Jamshid Rasooli (Persian language: جمشید رسولی) is an Afghan attorney and lawyer currently working as National Affairs Adviser and Spokesperson for Afghanistan Attorney General Office.[1]

Early life

Jamshid Rasooli was born in Pakistan on November 5, 1988, when his family was in immigration, and returned to Kabul with his family when the Mujahideen came to power in 1992, when he was four years old.[2]

Education

He completed his primary education in his father's hometown, Hessa I Kuhistan district of Kapisa province, and completed his higher education at Ghulam Haidar Khan Charkhi High School in Kabul. However, after graduating from school in 2006, Rasouli was eager to continue his studies at the Police Academy; after passing the entrance exam and entering the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Al-Biruni University in Kapisa Province, on the advice of his family, who believed that by studying at law school, he could become a better policeman; He decided to pursue his higher education at Al-Biruni University.In 2010, Rasouli graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Al-Biruni University. InIn 2019 he received his master's degree in Criminal law and Criminology from Khatamull-Nabien University in Kabul Province. He also holds two English language degrees from Kardan University and the American University of Afghanistan

Career

Immediately after graduating from university in 2010, Rasouli was admitted to the six-month law clinic of the Global Rights. Finally, among the dozens of students of this institute in several provinces of Afghanistan, he was able to be included in the internship program of the Afghanistan Legal Services Institute. During the 11 months that Rasooli worked as a lawyer at Global Rights Institute, he was able to defend the rights of dozens of defendants and suspects. At the same time, he worked as a lawyer at the institute and provided legal advice to several other private organizations and companies. Rasooli entered the National Legal Training Center (NLTC) at Kabul University for a one-year legal internship training program and one year after, when he graduated with the first position from the NLTC in 2011, hired by the Afghan Attorney General's Office.

From 2011 to 2015, Rasooli has worked in various departments of the Attorney General of Afghanistan, including: financial and administrative sector, policy and supervision, civil and commercial sector, prosecution of cases of violence against women and the fight against corruption.[3] Prioror to his appointment as a spokesperson[4][5] in 2016, due to his great interest in teaching, with the consent of the Attorney General of Afghanistan, in addition to his governmental duties, he worked for four years, first as a trainer and then as a consultant, with the COPP project, sponsored by the GIZ and EU Police, he traveled to seven provinces of Afghanistan including: Kabul Province, Balkh Province, Herat Province, Kandahar Province, Nangarhar Province, Helmand Province, Badakhshan Province and Baghlan Province to train and build capacity for prosecutors, police and defense lawyers, of which only seven travels were to Helmand province.

In 2018, Rasouli was appointed as the director of the Institute of Vocational Training of the Attorney General's Office of Afghanistan and in 2019, retaining the position of spokesman, he became the advisor to the Attorney General for National Affairs.[6]

Honors

Jamshid Rasouli was the first employee of the Attorney General's Office of Afghanistan during the National unity government to receive the Mir Masjidi Khan State Medal in 2018 from the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani.

During the first four years of his career, Rasouli has received two third-degree certificates, one in 2014 and the other in 2016 from Attorney General of Afghanistan, for his honesty in performing his duties and his commitment to service.

Only as the investigator prosecutor of cases related to violence against women, Rasooli has investigated and referred hundreds of cases of murder and violence against women to court.

Four consecutive years of membership in the Joint Government and Media Committee to Support Journalists and Create a Database for Cases of Violence Against Journalists, are the most important achievements of Rasooli as a national affairs adviser and spokesman for the Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.[7]

Among dozens of students in several provinces of Afghanistan, he was selected as a distinguished student in the Internship Program of the Afghan Legal Services Organization. During the 11 months that Mr. Rasooli served as a defense lawyer at the Global Rights Institute, he was able to defend the rights of dozens of defendants and suspects.

At the same time, working as a defense lawyer at the aforementioned institute and providing legal advice to several other private organizations and companies, Mr. Rasooli made his way to the National Center for Legal Trainings at Kabul University.
