Jalal-ud-Deen Ahmad Amjad (born as Jalaluddin Ahmad; 1933) was an Indian Muslim scholar who belonged to the Barelvi movement. He was known as the founder of Darul Uloom Amjadia Arshadul Uloom. He authored Fatawa Faiz-ur-Rasool and Anwar-e-Shariat and others based on Fiqh and Barelvi movement.[1] [2]
Early life and education
Jalal-ud-Deen Ahmad Amjadi was born to Jaan Muhammad bin Abdur Rahim in 1933 AD corresponds to 1352 CE in Ojhaganj village of Basti, Uttar Pradesh. According to Dawate Islami, his ancestor Murad Singh was reverted to Islam from Rajput Hindus and changed his name to Muhammad Murad Ali. He was a student of Maulana Arshadul Qadri where he studied Hadees and Fiqh[1]
Career
Amjadi received his Sanad-e-Faraghat (Farewell) on May 19, 1952 and became a teacher at Madrasa Qadria Razvia and Darul Uloom Faizur Rasool. Later, he established Madrasa Darul Uloom Amjadia Arshadul Uloom near his residence in Ojhaganj, Uttar Pradesh.[3]
Works
He authored several well-known books, including *Fataawa Faiz-ur-Rasool
and others, covering various aspects of Islamic knowledge.[8]
Personal life
Amjadi was married and he had three sons, the eldest one Amjad Ali Aazmi who later joined hands with Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi to work for the Barelvi movement.[9]
Death and legacy
Amjadi died 23 August 2001 (4 Jamaadi-ul-awwal 1422 Hijri) on friday, He was buried at his home place, Ojhaganj and his shrine is known to be very revered. .[10]
