Jaime “Joey” Cruz Medina (born on April 12, 1967) is a Filipino people politician and currently serving as the General Manager of Laguna Lake Development Authority of the Philippines starting 2017 under Rodrigo Duterte administration. [1]He served as the Mayor of Pateros, Metro Manila during Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Benigno Aquino III administration back in 2007 – 2016.
Early life
Jaime Medina was born in the Municipality of Pateros, Metro Manila. He finished his elementary education in Pateros Catholic School, while he took his secondary education at the Lourdes School of Mandaluyong.
Political career
Mayor of Pateros Jaime Medina served as the Mayor of Pateros for three consecutive terms, from 2007 to 2016[2], under the administrations of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo|President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and Benigno Aquino III|President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s.
General Manager of Laguna Lake Development Authority Jaime "Joey" Medina is the current and the 21st General Manager of [3]. Driven by President Rodrigo Duterte mandate on his State of the Nation Address (Philippines) (SONA)[4], which states that “The Laguna Lake shall be transformed into a vibrant economic zone showcasing ecotourism by addressing the negative impact of the watershed destruction, land conversion and pollution,” Medina has implemented laws, regulations, and activities that have improved the Laguna Lake Region and the Authority itself. Some of these activities include the continuous dismantling of illegal fish pens, penalizing violators of environmental laws and regulations, strengthening ties with local government units in implementing laws on environmental protection, and partnering with organizations and agencies for the betterment of the Laguna de Bay Region."
