Jaidyn K. Hurst (born February 10, 2005) is an American singer and songwriter from New York City. Beginning her career in 2022, she rose to mainstream prominence following the release of her 2023 LP “My Reality,” featuring singles "Crossroads" and “Spiral."[1][2]

Hurst’s music is noted for its poignant introspection and captures the essence of emotions that resonate with worldwide audiences across generations. Her multilingual abilities enhance her global resonance, contributing to her recognition on the international stage.[3]

Early life and education

Hurst was born on February 10, 2005, in New York City and raised in Paris, France, and Aspen, Colorado. She completed her elementary education at Aspen Country Day School before transferring to The Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, where she graduated from high school in 2023 and spoke at the Baccalaureate ceremony. Currently, she is a first-year student at Yale University.[4]

From a young age, Hurst displayed a keen interest in music, acquiring proficiency in piano and guitar and demonstrating a talent for songwriting.

Career

On February 10, 2022, Hurst released her debut EP, “Seasons.” Featuring tracks like "Silver Lining," "Seasons," and "Take Me," the EP gained widespread recognition on major streaming platforms. This led to her discovery by Joel Kipnis of "Pulse Music NYC" in New York City.[5]

Collaborating with Kipnis, Hurst completed a 9-song LP titled "My Reality," released on October 27, 2023. The album comprises original compositions by Hurst and co-written songs with vocal producer Cannon Mapp. The first single from the LP, "Crossroads," which dropped on February 17, 2023, received over 204,000 music streams, and a Leon Robinson-directed music video that debuted on April 7, 2023, garnered over 109,000 views.[6]

Following the success of "CROSSROADS," Hurst released her second single, "SPIRAL," on May 26, 2023, amassing over 240,000 music streams. The corresponding music video, also directed by Leon Robinson, premiered on August 18, 2023, accumulating over 57,000 views.

Hurst is associated with BMI for publishing, and her distribution deal is with "The Orchard," a sub-division under "Sony Music."
