Jade Latrice Kyles (born January 7, 2004), better known by her stage name Jade Latrice is an African American singer and songwriter.[1] Her primary genre is R&B and Soul music, and as of 2022 has released three hit singles titled “I Like It”, “Make It Home”,[2] and “Somebody to Somebody”.[3]

Latrice soared to fame after the release of her debut single “I Like It”, and her second hit, “Make It Home”, which was produced by Grammy nominee TryBishop and was placed #7 on Digital Radio Tracker.[4] Her music is centered on the struggles and tribulations that individuals face in life, and she has become well-known for her emotionally-charged lyrical themes.[5]

Early life and education

Latrice was born on January 7, 2004 to Latasha Sawyer Kyles and Jade Bledsoe Kyles in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents are self-employed entrepreneurs. She has a younger brother named Joshua Kyles and 4 half-siblings with whom they share a father. Latrice currently attends Plainfield South High School and attended Heritage Middle School as well as Nathan Hale Elementary.

While growing up, Latrice often turned to music for solace and was immensely influenced by H.E.R, Summer Walker, Lauryn Hill, Brandy, Beyonce, and Mary J. Blige.

Career

Latrice began her career in 2021 with the release of her debut single “I Like It” featuring Judah Watkins. Soon after the release, the song gained popularity for resonating with the new generation of listeners. “I Like It” music video acquired over 25,000 views in its first couple of months. In the same year, her second single titled “Make It Home”[6] was released. Latrice worked with Grammy Award Nominee producer TryBishop for this song which ranked #7 on the Digital Radio Tracker Charts. Her third single titled “Somebody to Somebody” was released in January 2022.[7]
