Jacqueline Zünd (born 1971 in Zurich, Switzerland) is a Swiss film director and screenwriter.

Career

Jacqueline Zünd completed Ringier School of Journalism before studying at London Film School.

Her award-winning films have screened at numerous international film festivals such as International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, DOK Leipzig, Locarno Film Festival, Visions du Réel, and the ACID sidebar at Cannes Film Festival. Her second documentary feature, Almost There (2016), was praised as a "polyphonic meditation on transience"[1] and "a sensitive and moving portrayal of three men facing the relentless passing of time".[2]

Her most recent documentary feature, Where We Belong (2019), premiered at Berlin International Film Festival. Noted by Variety for its "distinctive aesthetic"[3], the film was praised as "a visually sumptuous, if melancholy, elegy on the premature loss of innocence"[4].

In November 2022, her first retrospective took place at Hong Kong Arts Centre.[5]
