John “Jack” McCullough (born May 1964 in Dorchester, MA) is a business executive, entrepreneur, author, and public speaker living in North Andover, Massachusetts, USA with his wife and two sons.[1]

Career

McCullough started his career as an auditor at Peat Marwick & Mitchell (today KPMG)[2][1][3][4] and then worked for Gensym Corporation and Top Layer Networks in several financial leadership roles.[1][3][4] He later returned to KPMG[1][4] and launched its Global Innovation Center in Kendall Square, where he worked with early-stage entrepreneurs, investors, and their executive teams.[3] McCullough established an outsourced CFO practice, serving as an interim or part-time CFO for 26 different companies.[5][6]

In 2003, McCullough co-founded the MIT Sloan CFO Summit.[4] Each year, the event attracts 400+ CFOs and senior financial executives and offers a day of programming that addresses the changing role of the CFO.[7] MIT Sloan CFO Summit events gather prominent speakers, including General Motors CFO Dan Ammann, Nobel laureate Robert Merton and top financial executives from Linkedin, Time Warner, Oracle, Zipcar, Duke Energy and OfficeMax.[8] McCullough was the recipient of the Great Dome Award 2018 for his involvement with the MIT Sloan CFO Summit.[9]

McCullough founded the CFO Leadership Council in 2006.[10][11][3][4] Under McCullough’s leadership, the CFO Leadership Council has grown to 27 chapters and 2000+ members solely consisting of senior financial executives across the United States.[12] [11][4] He sold the CFO Leadership Council to the Chief Executive Group in August 2021.[12][3]

Books

McCullough published his first book, Secrets of Rockstar CFOs, in 2019.[13]

McCullough published his second book in 2021, called The Psychopathic CEO: an Executive Survival Guide.[3] The book was written for executives to assist them in identifying potential psychopathy in the executive suite as well as advice on how to manage such a challenge.[14][3]

Media appearances

McCullough is a recognised thought leader in the world of financial and strategic leadership.[15] [16][3] He is often interviewed by the global reputable media, including the Wall Street Journal,[17][18][19][20] The Business Journals,[21] CFO Magazine,[22] CFO Dive,[23][24][25] CFO Brew,[4] Insigniam Quarterly,[26] CNBC,[27][28][29] and Fox Business Network.[30]
