Jean Marcos Morales Martínez (Havana, Cuba, born February 2000), known as J Marcos, its a Singing, songwriter of Reggaeton and trap, and author of “Voy directo a Grandes Ligas” (2018)[1] along with the cuban singer, Diamante.
Biography
He was born on the 26 of February of 2000 in Havana, although he emigrated to France at the age of 2.
In 2011 he acted in the short film “Grandir[2]” recorded in Cuba and directed by Yohan Riba Martínez[3], which participated in the Cannes Film Festival.
In 2013 he met the Cuban singer-songwriter Baby Lores, with whom he composed “Loco de amor” in 2018 produced by Evan & Kaisar Productions.
Among his most important influences is the singer Roldan, of the group Orishas (band) (winner of two Latin Grammy Award and multiple gold records).
In 2017 he participated as a guest artist in a Baby Lores concert in Havana, performing some of his first demos.
In 2018 he decided to start his career as a singer, combining it with his work as a lyricist, and published his first professional work: “Voy directo a Grandes Ligas” together with the singer Diamante (former member of the duo J Marcos and El Diamante).
The Single (music), which didn't have a promoter, publisher, or endorsement label, reached 100,000 views on YouTube (channel). It served as a preview to their first album, which was dubbed “Directo a grandes Ligas” in December 2018.
The album features collaborations with internationally recognized artists such as Baby Lores, Eddy-K, and Damian.
In 2019 he released his new single, entitled “Trépate” with Eddy-K & Damian, with Latin and Cuban rhythms that are a tribute to his origins. In this same year was recorded the video clip of the single in various places of Cuba.
In 2019 he was nominated for the “Lucas Awards” with the single “Regálame un Beso”[4].
Since the beginning of 2020 he has been working on a new album entitled “Sentimiento”, where he reflects real experiences about his experiences[5].
Music genre
His musical style is a variant of Hip hop music called Trap music, mixed with Cuban music.
All his works are inspired by his personal experiences, such as the tragic loss of several acquaintances as well as other relatives due to drugs and street violence.
Among the artists who have influenced the most deeply in their songs are Roldan from the group Orishas, to whom is joined by a great friendship and artistic collaboration.
One of his great influences is Daddy Yankee and his long career, whom he has followed from the beginning with the group Los Cangris.
