Jennifer Jane Virgin (known professionally as JJ Virgin) is an American nutrition and fitness author and media personality. She is the author of multiple diet and lifestyle books that have appeared on The New York Times Best Seller list, including The Virgin Diet and The Sugar Impact Diet.[1][2] She is the founder of Reignite Wellness, a company that sells nutrition products and provides health coaching services.[3]
Early Life and Education
Virgin studied exercise science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She later earned a master's degree in biomedical sciences from California State University, Northridge, and completed graduate-level coursework in nutrition, biomechanics, and aging at the University of Miami and the University of Bridgeport.[4]
She is a co-founder of Mindshare Summit, a business education event for health and wellness entrepreneurs, later rebranded as the Health Business Growth Collective.[5]
Virgin has appeared as a health expert on television programs including Dr. Phil, The Doctors, Access Hollywood, and PBS.[6] She co-hosted the TLC series Freaky Eaters and served as an on-camera nutrition consultant for Dr. Phil’s Weight Loss Challenge.[7]
She hosts the podcast Well Beyond 40, which features interviews with physicians, researchers, and health professionals on topics related to nutrition, fitness, and aging.[8]
