Jānis Geste (born January 3, 1983) is a Latvian journalist and presenter for Latvijas Televīzija.[1]
Early life and education
Geste was born on January 3, 1983, in the Užava Parish of Ventspils.[2] He attended Ventspils Valsts 1. ģimnāzija, graduating in 2001, and then studied at the Faculty of Law at the University of Latvia, but suspended his studies in 2003. He received a bachelors degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Latvia in 2016.
Career
Geste took a job as a reporter at Latvijas Televīzija in 2003, where he has worked since. In 2006, Geste and a Brazilian friend were allegedly accosted by a pair of Latvian youths in Riga on account of his friend's nationality.[3] The suspects were later charged by the regional prosecutor's office.[3] In 2012, he interviewed then-United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.[4]
