Jürgen Schumacher M.D. is a german born Finnish pediatrician. He was born in Hamburg in 1935 and graduated from the Johanneum high school in Hamburg in 1955. He received his medical state examination and doctorate from the University of Freiburg (Germany) in 1960. In 1963 Schumacher emigrated to Finland and worked for five years as an assistant doctor at the children’s hospital of Finnish-Lappland in Rovaniemi [1]. He graduated in pediatrics from the University of Helsinki Children’s Hospital in 1970. From 1971-1997 Schumacher was the chief physician at the children’s department of the district hospital in Kuusankoski (south-east Finland) [2] [3] and from 1985-1997 also head physician of the same hospital ASD. Schumacher has also worked as the Chancellor for Ordo Sancti Constantini Magni[4]. Schumacher was married to the Finnish opera singer Marja Toppinen (d. 2016) and has a son and a daughter. He lives in Espoo (Finland).
