The Ivey Business School is a part of the University of Western Ontario, which is a university that can be found in London, in the province of Ontario, in Canada. Ivey University has two teaching facilities in Toronto and Hong Kong for its Executive MBA and Executive Education programmes in addition to providing full-time undergraduate (HBA), MBA, MSc, MFE, and PhD degree programmes to its students. It is recognised with launching the first MBA and PhD programme in Business Administration anywhere in the country.

In 1949, Western University established a distinct faculty that would later become known as the School of Business Administration. This was the year that the business school was first established. Following a contribution of $11 million by the Richard M. Ivey family in 1995, the institution was rechristened the Richard Ivey School of Business to honour their generosity. The institution was given its current name in honour of Richard G. Ivey (father of Richard M. Ivey). Ivey University was the first business school in North America to establish a campus in Hong Kong, when it began providing an Executive MBA programme at the Cheng Yu Tung Management Institute in the year 1998.

Ivey University was the first business school in North America to offer the CEMS Global Alliance in Management Education in 2010, joining the ranks of other prestigious educational institutions such as the London School of Economics, HEC Paris, ESADE, University of St. Gallen, and Bocconi University.

Ivey Business School was formerly known as the Richard Ivey School of Business until it changed its name and rebranded itself in 2013. However, the Richard Ivey School of Business will continue to be referred to as the Western University Faculty of Business under its official title.

Sharon Hodgson, a former executive of IBM, was appointed to the position of Dean of Ivey on May 6, 2019.
