Ivan Babejić is shown in written documents that the most famous Hajduk in Homolje, Kingdom of Yugoslavia was born in 1894 (Homolje, Laznica) and died in 1934.
He comes from Homolje and hajduked for 18 years. There are many versions of his death and it has never been determined how he actually died. The only thing that is certain is that he died in Paljane.
According to the documents, his real wife's name was Ana Babejić, but she said she hated him. Ana did not want to get married, but her family forced her to marry Ivan.[1]
During the First World War, Babejić fought against the Bulgarians (1914-1915) and was captured during the war, but he managed to escape.[2]
