Itida (born Aditi Srivastava) is an Indian-American Singer, Songwriter, & Performing Artist based out of Los Angeles, California. Itida is a disciple of Legendary Padmavibhushan Girija Devi (Benaras Gharana Classical- She is originally from Lucknow, India.[1][2]

Career

Itida initially started out pursuing a career in law. While working towards law school after her graduation from the University of California San Diego, she began embracing her passion for music and songwriting. She went to India to formally train under her legendary Guru in Vocal Hindustani Classical music. Her music reflects a taste of folk, hindustani classical (Benaras Gharana) and sufi (A reflection of her family's roots to Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh, India)--mixed with her western and global musical influences.

In 2014, Itida founded the band Des Pardes. [3] The band is a collaboration concept where Itida works with artists from all over the world to blend the music of the West with Hindustani Classical/Benaras Gharana.[4] Des Pardes was the first international fusion band that was signed on to "Qyuki", the music company formed by music composer A.R Rehman. [5]

Itida's debut album was Pen & Paper. It was released through Hungama Digital/Artist Aloud in 2013. After founding the Des Pardes Band, Itida released the album Des Pardes in 2014 featuring artists from the Des Pardes Band. Both Pen and Paper (2013) and Des Pardes (2014) albums have been on Hungama music's top 10 charts. [6]

Itida has 9 music videos for both her solo songs and along with band members in Des Pardes Band.[7] She also has acted in the movie "Amit Sahni Ki List" in 2014

Awards & Nominations

Itida was nominated for the "Best Female Artist" category in the 2014 ArtistAloud Music Awards. She placed in the top 5, along with Shreya Ghoshal, Sujata Majumdar, Sujata Majumdar, & Chaittali Shrivasttava.[9][10]

Itida also was awarded the U.P. NRI Ratna Award in 2017 by the Uttar Pradesh Government for her efforts in music.[5]
