Itamar Medical is an Israeli medical device company that develops diagnostic tools for sleep disordered breathing and early diagnosis of Atherosclerosis.

Itamar Medical was founded in 1997 as a developer of devices for assessing vascular defects. Early products included technology for early detection of heart disease (EndoPAT) and detection of sleep disorders (WatchPAT).[1][2][3] The company was founded by Giora Yaron, Peretz Lavie, Daniel Goor and Martin Gerstel. The company is named for Yaron’s brother, Itamar Yaron, who was killed in Yom Kippur War when trying to rescue his injured soldier and was later awarded with a Medal of Courage.[4] Itamar is located in located in Caesarea, Israel and has offices in the US, Japan, and the Netherlands. The CEO of the company is Gilad Glick.[5]

Devices

In 2001 the company received FDA clearance for its WatchPAT device.[6] Then in 2003 the company received FDA-clearance for a non-invasive technology for measuring Endothelial disfunction[1] and that same year EndoPAT received FDA approval.[7] In 2004 the company raised $5 million from American investors, bringing its total to $35 million USD.[1] It went public in 2007 on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.[8] In 2014 Itamar partnered with Medtronic Corporation to market its sleep apnea diagnostic tools.[9] Then in 2020 the company raised $40 million on the NASDAQ.[10] The previous year its revenues reached $31.9 million.[11]
