Israa Media is an Algerian technology startup headquartered in Algiers. It was founded in 2016 by engineer Nasreddine Laib[3][4] to develop immersive technologies for educational and cultural projects.

History

Israa Media was established in 2016 to create interactive AR and VR experiences for schools, museums, and cultural heritage sites. Its work combines 3D graphics and immersive technology to enhance learning and the presentation of historical sites.[5][6]

Products and Projects

Learn4D is an educational AR application that overlays 3D models of science diagrams onto middle-school textbooks, enabling interactive exploration of natural science concepts.[7]

Raconte-moi la Casbah 3D is a virtual heritage project located at Place des Martyrs metro station in Algiers. Opened on 25 July 2023, it provides an 8-minute immersive tour of the Casbah’s historic alleys and architecture using 3D projections and VR glasses. The project was implemented through a partnership between OGEBC, Metro d’Alger, and Israa Media.[8][9][10]

Recognition

Israa Media received official recognition from the Algerian government in 2021[11]. Its founder has been featured in national media discussing the use of AR/VR in education and cultural heritage.[12]
