Isabella Renee (born May 6, 1998) is an American author of new adult fiction romance novels. She is best known for theirRenee uses debut novel He & I, a story about a young queer man in the early 2000's, and their upcoming book I Vote You, Mr. Mayor.[1][2]

Personal life

Isabella Renee was born on May 6, 1998 in Dover, Ohio, but grew up in Bass Lake, California. They are attending Arizona State University for a history degree.[2][3] While actively pursing a career in writing, Renee also works a full-time customer service role.[1]

Renee is queer, demi-sexual, and uses she/they pronouns.[4][1] Renee has stated that she will only write homonormative romances because she wants others to feel seen, and wishes to enjoy a part of herself that she felt she wasn't allowed to as a young adult. She also has expressed various mental health issues within their writing, as well as different forms of abuse and homophobia, and has said she turned to writing as a coping mechanism to channel their feelings after experiencing those problems.[1]

Career

Renee is currently published by Olympia Publishers.[2]

In 2022, Renee's first book, He & I, was published.[5] The romance novel follows the life of Frederick Burke and his husband Johnathon in the early 2000's.[5] The novel was loosely based on real life stories from a close friend of Renee. She has described the novel as a tragedy, with explicit representations of homophobia.[2]

The novel has been published in the United States and internationally.[6]

Lock Down Love

In 2021, Renee was cast in the film Lock Down Love, which follows a plus-sized woman who is left by her significant other for her weight.
