Mohammad Irwan bin Hambali is a Bruneian police officer whom currently serves as the Police Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) since 2021.[1]
Career
On 22 December 2013, the RBPF signed a contract for the design, supply, delivery, installation, testing, training, commissioning, and maintenance of the National Digital Communication System (NDCS), also known as the Communication Technology System, together with the necessary hardware and software. RBPF and Telekom Brunei (TelBru) signed the agreement. The Acting Director of General Administration and Finance, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohammad Irwan, spoke on behalf of the Government of Brunei.[2]
Another significant occasion in the history of the ASEAN Chiefs of Police (ASEANAPOL) Secretariat occurred on 27 August 2019, when Mohammad Irwan, the chairman, and Abdul Hamid Bador, the Inspector General of the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), paid an official visit to the Secretariat's office.[3]
The Gadong Police Headquarters held a ceremony to officially hand over the reins as police commissioner. On 4 March 2021, Jammy Shah Al-Islam signed the letter transferring responsibility to Mohammad Irwan after successfully completing his service term.[4] At the Disobeying Government Instructions Media Conference held at the Gadong Police Headquarters, Commissioner Mohammad Irwan highlighted that the administration takes the directive prohibiting social isolation and holding any sort of group activity seriously amid the Government's attempt in containing the COVID-19 pandemic.[5]
