Business

Irelandia Aviation is one of the pioneers in European LCCs with the development Ryanair. In 2012, the company launched Viva Air Colombia, the first low-cost carrier in South America. The same year, the company sold its shares in its Mexican subsidiary, VivaAerobus. The company then proceeded to enter the Peruvian market with its low-cost carrier Viva Air Peru.[1][2]

In 2020, Irelandia Aviation invested in U.K.-based drone delivery operator, Skyports. Before backing Skyports, the company invested in AERDRON, a spanish-based drone manufacturer. [3] [4]The Dublin-based company has also invested in the budget Colombian hotel chain, Ayenda continuing its South American expansion.[5]
