Innova Market Insights BV is a market intelligence and analysis company founded in 1994 by CEO Patrick Mannion and Global Insights Director Lu Ann Williams. The company has its headquarters in Arnhem, Netherlands, with a further 10 offices in locations around the world.

It tracks product launches, trends,[1] consumer habits and market sizes in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, specifically food, beverages,[2] household goods, beauty products and personal care. Innova Market Insights leads the market research hub of Growth for Growth,[3] established by the Nutrition team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The company is a member of Food Valley NL,[4] an organization based in Wageningen, Netherlands.

Database

The Innova Database contains records of FMCG products, including ingredients,[5] marketing and product claims,[6] packaging materials, launch data,[7] regions of sale, images, flavor and range variations and on-pack information. The database has also been used as a source for scientific studies by organizations including the UN Food and Agriculture Organization[8] and Access To Nutrition Initiative.[9]

Analytics tools

Innova Top Ten Trends[25] is an annual list of forecasts which first appeared in 2005. The list is based on elements including market data, launch activity, consumer surveys and actions, category growth, supply issues, regulatory activity and other influencing factors.

The Top Ten Trends are announced publicly to industry and media outlets in the fall, followed by a webinar detailing the entire list, with occasional live presentations at trade events.[26] Accompanying literature includes reports and presentations[27] covering the complete ten trends, individual trends, region- and country-specific trends and how the top ten relate to individual sectors and product categories.[28]
