Indresh Upadhyay (born 7 August 1997) is an Indian spiritual storyteller, devotional singer, and Bhagwat Katha Vachak from Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. He is known for his recitations of the Shrimad Bhagwat Purana, devotional discourses, and bhajans rooted in traditional Vaishnav teachings. As the founder of BhaktiPath, Upadhyay has gained recognition for spreading spiritual messages among youth and global audiences through his kathas and digital presence.[1][2]

Early Life and Background

Indresh Upadhyay was born on 7 August 1997 in the sacred town of Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, into a devout Vaishnav Brahmin family immersed in spiritual tradition. His father, Shri Krishna Chandra Shastri (Thakur Ji), is himself a recognized Bhagwat katha preacher this exposure deeply influenced young Indresh from childhood. He completed his schooling at Kanha Makhan Public School, Vrindavan, but his real education was spiritual: under his father’s guidance, by the age of 13, he had memorized the entire Shrimad Bhagwat Purana a remarkable feat marked by dedication and devotion.

Spiritual Career and Rise as Katha Vachak

Indresh began narrating Bhagwat Katha early, blending devotion, scripture, and musical bhajans into his discourse. His first major public Katha is documented around 2015 in Dwarka, Gujarat when he was still in his teens. Audiences were drawn to his heartfelt storytelling, youthful energy, and ability to connect ancient spiritual teachings with contemporary life. Over time, his fame has grown across India, especially among younger listeners who appreciate his approachable style. To expand his reach and impact, Indresh founded BhaktiPath a spiritual initiative/platform dedicated to spreading the teachings of Bhagwat Katha, devotional music, and the values of devotion, service, and spirituality to a broader audience.[3]

Philosophy & Message

What sets Indresh Upadhyay apart is his effort to translate ancient wisdom into a language accessible for modern youth. His lectures and discourses blend spirituality, moral teachings, life-lessons, and devotional music making spirituality relevant in today’s fast-paced world. He also emphasizes values such as “Gau Seva” (cow protection), social responsibility, and a lifestyle rooted in devotion, simplicity, and service.[4]

Personal Life

Indresh leads a life grounded in spirituality, humility, and devotion. Indresh Upadhyay married to Shipra on 5 December 2025.[5][6]
