Indio Falconer Downey (born September 7, 1993) is an American musician and actor.[1] He made his acting debut in the 2005 film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and has since appeared in Jackie and Game of Consciousness. Downey is a singer and composer, having released notable singles including "September" (2022), "Runaway" (2022), "Headspace" (2022), "Dume" (2023), and "Plastic Rainbow" (2023).[2]

Early life

Downey was born on September 7, 1993, in Los Angeles, California, to Robert Downey Jr., a renowned actor recognized for his roles in Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes, and Deborah Falconer, a musician and actress. Downey's early life was marked by his parents' unstable relationship and his father's struggles with substance abuse. From a young age, he was influenced by his parents' artistic careers.[3]

Career

Acting

Downey began his acting career at 12, appearing in the 2005 film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, in which he played a younger version of his father's character. He later appeared in other films, including Jackie, starring Peter Sarsgaard and Greta Gerwig, and Game of Consciousness, directed by Adam Michardi.[4]

Music

Downey developed a passion for music during his high school years. He started his career as a singer and guitarist. Downey formed the band Indio Ink, formerly known as The Dose, with his friend Ralph Alexander. The band has released several singles, including "Fame," "Cold Hands," "Shadows Near," "Space Trader," "Worship," and "The Truth Lies Within." In 2018, they gained traction with the release of "Verbena" and "Thrill."[5]

Downey also leads a Los Angeles-based band with drummer Jackson Morris and bassist Christopher Mudgett. The band has released several singles in the alternative rock genre, including "Headspace," "Runaway," and "September."[6][7]

In 2023, Downey released his debut EP, Cigarettes In Bed.[8] He also released the single "Dume," influenced by his personal struggles with drug addiction, and aimed to convey a message of hope to others facing similar challenges.[9]
