Ilona M. Otto (3 May 1979, born in Kłecko, Poland) is a social scientist and professor at the University of Graz. In 2003, Ilona Otto completed her master studies in Sociology at the Adam Michiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. She graduated with a PhD in Resource Economics from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany in 2007. Ilona M. Otto spent 10 years doing extensive research at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impacts Research. Since July 2020 she holds the Professorship for Societal Impacts of Climate Change at the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change, University of Graz, Austria. Research fields: Social tipping dynamics[1], environmental inequalities[2] [3].
