Ilija Šobajić (1876-1916) was a Serbian War artist of note. He died during the First World War after the Great Serbian Retreat over the Albanian mountains.

In Nikšić in 1925 he was art teacher at the Cetinje Gymnasium (school)|Gymnasium.[1]The teaching staff at the time included Ilija's colleagues Beta Vukanović and Ljubomir Ivanović.[2]

The first draft of the Perper, a Montenegrin monetary note, was done by Ilija Šobajić.[3]
