Ichika Nito (いちか にとう) is a Japanese musician and guitarist. He is a member of the band Dios, where he is the main guitar. He is affiliated with the talent agency Amuse.[2] In 2023, he was ranked no. 8 in the list "The best guitarists in the world right now" by Total Guitar[3]

Career

In 2016, Ichika Nito began posting guitar performance videos on Instagram, showcasing a unique and technical playing style that incorporates techniques like tapping. His imaginative and distinctive melodies garnered attention both domestically and internationally, with many of his videos exceeding 30,000 views.

In January 2017, he made his debut by releasing the 1st EP "forn" from the ViViX label of TaWaRa Corporation[4]. In May, he signed an endorsement contract with Ibanez[5]. In June, he released an EP titled "Casket" as part of the unit "Among the Sleep". In July, he served as the opening act at the Osaka BIGCAT performance of DADARAY, marking his first live performance. In September, he participated as a support guitarist in MYTH & ROID's stage at CHARA EXPO 2017 in Singapore.

In March 2018, responding to an invitation from Enon Kawatani, Ichika formed the instrumental band ichikoro and released the digital single "ichiroove".

In July 2020, he was ranked 8th in the "Top 100 Guitarists Right Now" as chosen by readers of the British guitar magazine Total Guitar.[3]

In March 2021, along with Tanaka and Sasanomarii, Ichika formed the band Dios and released their debut single "Tōhikō" in the same month.

In June 2022, Dios released their debut album "CASTLE." In the same month, Ichika participated in the production, composition, and arrangement of the song "more than life ft. glaive" within Machine Gun Kelly's album "Mainstream Sellout (Life in Pink deluxe edition)," alongside Travis Barker and others.
