Ian von Hegner (born 1974) is a Danish-born astrobiologist, biophysicist, philosopher, futurist and author,[1][2] and a research scientist at Future Foundation Assoc.[3] His scientific work includes studying the evolutionary patterns of life in a broader context, e.g., extremophiles in the search for extraterrestrial life,[4] feasibility of lithopanspermia in solar systems,[5] conditions for life’s emergence and distribution on planets and moons,[6] in which he has introduced several new theoretical concepts into the field of astrobiology, while his philosophical work includes studying issues in astrophilosophy, heroical[7] apatheism and futurism.
