Iain Moggach (born c. 1990) is a Canadian Artistic Director, theatre director, theatre producer, and theatre educator. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Moggach studied at Canterbury High School for the Arts. He would go on to study at Carleton University and graduated with a Bachelor of Humanities. He later attended George Brown College, where he obtained a Diploma in acting.
Upon graduation from George Brown, Moggach was part of Theatre by the Bay's inaugural Indie Producer Co-op in Barrie, Ontario. Within months of completing the program, he was asked to become the General Manager, later, Executive Director. In 2018, Moggach became the Artistic Director of the company and built it into one of Ontario's foremost generators of new Canadian plays. In addition to his work with the company, Iain co-founded Burro'd Theatre with his wife, Marissa.
In 2021, Iain was a founding member of the Barrie Arts Alliance, an ad-hoc group of Barrie arts leaders that meets to support local arts advocacy. Amongst the Alliance's successes, they led the charge to save the Georgian Theatre, led to the establishment of The City of Barrie's Arts Advisory Committee, and is leading the charge to build a new performing arts centre in Barrie's downtown.
Moggach is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Barrie Business Award for 'Young Professional of the Year' (2019), the Toast to Tourism Award for Barrie's 'Tourism Champion' and the George Brown College Alumni Awards for Leadership in 2019. As a theatre artist, Iain has worked across Ontario in a variety of styles, but with a focus on new Canadian plays. Most notably, Iain commissioned, and directed, Icemen by Vern Thiessen.
