Iain James Armour, also known as Fox Amoore, is a Scottish pianist and composer. He has released over 30 albums, two of which were recorded at Abbey Road Studios[1] and one at Ocean Way Recording[2]. He has toured globally, performing in historic venues such as The Cavern Club[3]The Cavern Club, Liverpool and Lee's Palace, Toronto[4][5] In addition to performing and recording albums, he has composed and recorded music for video game soundtracks, including working with SuperVillain Studios for their production of Order Up! for Nintendo wii[6]. When asked why he chose this career path, he replied with "Music just has a good emotional impact. It’s like a language to me, a form of expression."
Early Life
When Armour was four years old, he discovered a love for playing the piano. He had discovered the piano at that young age at his Great-Grandmother’s house and inherited the piano a few years later. Firstly, being self-taught, then taking private lessons.
During his time at St Columba's Roman Catholic High School, Dunfermline, he excelled at Music and was later advised to switch from Piano to Keyboard instrument.
He continued his education in music studying at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he received an award for highest honours. In 2006, Armour obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Popular Music Performance at University of the Highlands and Islands, Perth College UHI.
He credits his parents and family for their never-ending support throughout the years helping him reach his goals.
Career
Armour started playing professionally at the age of fourteen at the Craws Nest Hotel[7] in Anstruther, Scotland. The rest of the resident band were all in their mid-50’s when he joined and had been together for many years. For six years he was an integral part of the band there, performing multiple times each week.
Armour was the resident pianist at, the world renowned, Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland for a few years before he began touring throughout the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. He was also the entertainment director and resident cocktail pianist for the Queen's Hotel, Bridge of Allan, Scotland. He first began touring in Europe with The Getback Band[8] (a Paul McCartney, The Beatles). He currently performs with McDonald's Farm[9][10] in the UK and with Foxes and Peppers[11] globally. He has been an active performer during International Beatle Week in Liverpool and has helped to raise thousands of dollars for charitable organizations in the United States and other countries.
Musicianship
Throughout his career in playing and composing music he has frequently referred to his inspirations as Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman, and James Horner.His strength is taking a concept and exploring it to bring it to life. He uses a lot of dramatic orchestration yet filled with gentle moments that expand the mind. He demonstrated this with the two albums that he recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London by utilising firstly The English Chamber Orchestra[12] and latterly, The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.One of his sayings in ‘Don’t Listen……. Feel’. He actually included these words on the front cover of his 2007 Album ‘The Ballad of Midnight’ and named his 2011 Album ‘Feel’. His work is to try to take you to a different place and time.

Upcoming Projects
Armour is currently working on a couple of Musical shows and looking to record a fourth studio album later in 2021.
Touring
Armour has performed worldwide with many of the artists he has recorded with. He has also performed during Beatle Week in Liverpool with Mark Hudson[32], Micky Dolenz[33], Laurence Juber[34], and Steve Holley.[35] He joined the Paul McCartney / Beatles Tribute band ‘The Getback Band’ just before his 21st birthday and spent this special event performing in The Cavern Club and Britannia Adelphi Ballroom during International Beatle Week in Liverpool in 2005. He later joined McDonalds Farm (formerly Tripper) as their keyboard player. The only band to have performed at International Beatle Week every year since it was first launched in 1998. Armour has toured Europe with The Getback Band and with McDonalds Farm as well as a US tour with McDonalds Farm.

Orchestral Work
Come Find Me Armour's first recording at Abbey Road Studios became possible by a crowdfunding project. Fans gave their support to make this happen for him. Combined with artists Alexander James Adams, Nicola Kinsman, Travis Ratledge, Amadhia Albee, Neil Humphrey, and the English Chamber Orchestra, the album was recorded. Come Find Me was composed by himself and recorded and mixed by Grammy Award winner Simon Rhodes
The Dreamcatcher Armour's second recording at Abbey Road Studios was also a crowdfunding project. Fans again gave their support enabling the album to be recorded. The increased support from fans allowed this album to have the 70 piece City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Opus 32 Choir, and Eclipse Choir record for the album. He once again composed this album and performed on it along with fellow artists Jared Clark, Nicola Kinsman, Ned Wilkinson, Joe Bisbey, and Neil Humphrey. This album was also recorded and mixed by Grammy Award winner Simon Rhodes. The sound engineer in Prague was James Fitzpatrick. The promotional launch video was shot by EZWolf[38] on location in Scotland and Los Angeles featuring Tim Russ as a voice actor and the wolves of Project Wildsong[39]. The Dreamcatcher was released on 30 June 2017 with a live concert in the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Spread Thy Wings Armour’s third studio album and second collaboration with Jared Clark as ‘Foxes and Peppers’; was recorded at Ocean Way Recording, TN. This was also a crowdfunding project. Fans once again gave their support and a funding event was launched as a band performance and video presentation in the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA. on 4th July 2018.The speedy and enhanced support from fans allowed this album to have the Choir and Orchestra from the Internationally acclaimed Nashville Music Scoring, record for the album. Armour co-composed this album with Jared Clark and both performed on it along with fellow artists Ned Wilkinson, Mark ‘Underbite’ Wakeham, Alexander James Adams and Tonya Song. This album was recorded and mixed by Keith ‘Oddy’ Lesinski[40]. Spread Thy Wings was released on 01 December 2018.
