Humberto Martinez (born November 12, 1991) is an American actor, and firefighter based in Los Angeles.[1] He has acted in numerous TV commercials, music videos, and short films. In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Martinez has served the community as a professional firefighter for the past four years.
Right from his beginning, Martinez has been appreciated by film critics for his insightful and sensitive performances in his roles. He has been covered by New York Weekly,[2] The Manhattan Herald,[3] and others.
Early life and education
Martinez was born and raised in California, the son of Elder Lopez and Yocabeth Rangel. He graduated from Allan Hancock College and relocated to Los Angeles at 24.
In his youth, Martinez was presented with the challenges that California faced due to several wildfires. He had a strong attitude and was keen on finding answers rather than focusing on the obstacles in his environment. He understood that he might apply his skills to aid others in need in his country and, thus, became a firefighter.
Career
Martinez began his career as an actor while working as an Uber driver in Los Angeles. While riding with a client who turned out to be a director, Martinez was offered a role in a television commercial. Since 2018, Martinez has reportedly been in several television advertisements, short films, series, and music videos. Jose (2018) was his debut short film, followed by appearances in SEAL Team (2020), Moxie (2021), and F9: The Fast Saga (2021).
